Been long you saw me
Yes boo, I’ve been gone since last week
Been in Jand, yes I went to Pari
Now I’m back so no need to miss me miss me
??????Don Jazzy hook me up!!!
HELLO MY LOVES!!!
How have you been? I hope you’ve all been at your best!
Okay so, I’ll really like to know when did laziness/complacency become the new male-standard? I ask because events from the past week have made me wonder what exactly people (and by people, I mean men) are doing?
While this is not a man-bashing post, (and I apologize if it comes off as such), I’m kinda tired of always being cognizant of how I come off so I don’t “scare men away.” What I’ll like to know is what men are doing to step up to the plate?
To shed a little light on where I am coming from, let me explain:
Last Sunday, I was chilling with my soulme and our new big brother of life. My girl and I were strategizing. We were talking about businesses to start and raising money for property to develop and so on (we ain’t basic chicks lol). After observing us for a while, Big-brother-O said we were talking like men and needed to scale back a bit.
BBO: You need to understand that as girls from the Eastern part of Nigerian, you may come off as intimidating to men. Dial it down. Especially if you hope to marry igbo men some day.
Soulme: Well any man intimidated by me now, should stay where he is. That’s how I was advised not to buy my car because it came off as flashy and would scare men away.
This isn’t news to me. I’ve heard this all before so I didn’t say much on the matter. I honestly didn’t think much of it until earlier this week.
I was minding my business when one of my friends tagged me to IG post that read the following:
“A career woman can never make a good wife. It’s just the sad truth. See ehn…. Lot of men would think it would be great to have a wife who earns a lot of money.”[Then the part that did me in] “But living with a woman who is apparently more successful drains you. If you are a real man, it is a disaster”
Maybe it was the conversation I had about this a few days prior, or the comments under the IG post that justified this notion, or the fact that America inaugurated a less qualified man over the most qualified woman as President (#stillbitter), but this post pissed me the F%#K OFF so now I have questions;
Why do we keep telling women how-to-not-scare-off-men as opposed to telling men how-to-set-up-your-damn-game?
Why would living with a woman more successful drain you as a man, as opposed to inspire you to do better?
Why do I have to lose because you cannot win??
Seriously though,
If I buy a Mercedes E-Class, why can’t you hustle for a private jet?
If I get promoted to SVP, why can’t you hustle to be CEO?
If I run a 5k, why can’t you run a 26.2 marathon!????

Those men should shoot themselves HOWEVER men demand respect more than anything else. Those that are scared of a successful woman also fear being disrespected by one to.

I completely understand the need for respect. Please note that my friend and I were not saying that we’ll rub anything in anyone’s face or that we’re hustling to have “shut-up” power down the road. Just don’t understand why we should pump our breaks so the other species that feel like they matter

Well this guy supports your view on hustling as much as your woman lol.

If premium was everywhere it wouldn’t be premium. Women have to understand that most men are basic men. There are more women out there that are serious than men. Women get shit done period. Look to African History you will find all the evidence that you need. (fake deep).
Closing point, step outside of your range for what you are looking for. . Find you a man that thinks outside the box. – Good luck with that tho.

@ ” Women have to understand that most men are basic men. There are more women out there that are serious than men. Women get shit done period” CHOI CHOI CHOI CHOI
But come oh, Kobi @ your closing statement, are you trying to say that African men don’t get things done? My BBO kept referring back to the fact that my girl and I are Igbo girls and suggested that’s why we should scale back… are you affirming that by saying we should look “outside the box”? ? Next Friday’s blog post loading ???

I don’t know about others, but I rather be with a very successful woman, a very hard working lady, a woman that doesnt think less of herself, a woman with big dreams. I’m a big dreamer and so would want someone alike as a partner.

Hahahahaha – OBINNA FOR PRESIDENT!!!!
